The GRIT class in 6th grade has been practicing and improving pencil drawing skills in their latest project. After having some introductory sessions and practicing with objects in class, students took advantage of the warm weather at the start of the week to attempt some outdoor subjects. A side project occurred to help with Red Ribbon week door decorating contest. It lead to trying self portraits. The class will be completing final projects this week. Since GRIT class is about Goals, Resilience, Investigation, and Time management, this latest venture has stretched comfort zones in art skills, created some confidence in trying new things and provided ideas for projects in the future.
