Important Notice

11-16-2020

Dear Marion Families,

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordered new COVID restrictions that impact Marion Jr/Sr High School beginning Wednesday, November 18, 2020. After reviewing staff and student attendance data and illness rates at the elementary school, Marion Public Schools will be extending the school closure to include all students. All students will be having virtual instruction from Wednesday, November 18, 2020 through December 8th. Students will be returning to face-to-face instruction on December 9th. All athletics and co-curricular activities are suspended until December 9th. Food will be distributed to all students on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 am-Noon at Marion Elementary, Middle Branch Township Hall, Deighton Store, Winterfield Township Hall, and the Temple Store. The first day of distribution will be Thursday, November 19, 2020.

Parents and community members are reminded to continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, which are on the CDC website and included on our at-home screener. Contact your primary care physician if further support is needed. We will continue to evaluate each building, in collaboration with the Health Department, to determine further district closures.

If you have any questions as we work through challenges during these extraordinary times, please feel free to contact me via email sbrimmer@marion.k12.mi.us or by phone (231) 743-2486.

Respectfully,

Mr. Steve Brimmer
